Our Family Ties Ministry is a ministry for children with special needs that is offered during our 10:30 worship service on Sunday mornings. This ministry is an important part of helping parents and children "Celebrate" and "Connect" while here at Golden Acres.

 We truly believe that God has called each one of us to an intimate relationship with him. Our desire for the children at Golden Acres is that their relationship with God would begin at an early age. God began to build this ministry out of that desire. We created this minsitry so that children with special needs could feel safe and comfortable while learning the Word of God. 

We also believe that in order for parents of children with special needs to be able to truly celebrate and connect with God, they must first feel that their child(ren) are comfortable. Our desire is that parents would be able to attend service knowing that their children is safe, having fun, and learning God's Word. 

 Family Ties is designed so that each child is assigned a "buddy". This buddy is there solely to accompany and assist his or her assigned child during our 10:30 worship service. The buddy is there to greet their child upon arrival and remains with that child in the regular  worship service. Unless specified by parents, each child will have the same assigned buddy each week. 

 If you have a child with special needs and would like to have a buddy assigned to your child, you can click HEREand return the form to Daniel or Abby Cook in person or through email at gabcdaniel@att.net. Upon receiving your completed form, we will assign your child a buddy the following week. When completing the form, please be sure to include as much information about your child as possible (i.e. how to make them feel comfortable, how to handle/avoid meltdowns, male-female preferences, etc...) The more information we have regarding your child's particular needs and habits, the better equipped we will be to serve your child during their class time.
