BETTER TOGETHER!

Christian writer and speaker Carol Kent says,

One day when [my son] Jason was young, we were eating breakfast together. I had an old pair of slacks and a fuzzy old sweater. He flashed his baby blues at me over his cereal bowl and said, "Mommy, you look so pretty today."

I didn't even have makeup on! So I said, "Honey, why would you say I look pretty today? Normally I'm dressed up in a suit and high heels."

And he said, "When you look like that, I know you're going some place; but when you look like this, I know you are all mine."

Nothing can replace the beauty of being together with those we love!!

"Since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others."

Romans 12:5b (NLT)

"As each part does its work, it helps the other parts grow, so Christ's whole body is healthy and growing and full of love."

Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)

Better Together!

Daniel experienced the call of God on his life to work, reach, and disciple children while on a missions trip in high school. After completing high school he went on to fulfill the call God placed on his life by attending Southeastern University. While preparing for ministry at Southeastern, Daniel had the opportunity to serve in several great churches in the Lakeland, FL area. After college Daniel returned home to serve God at a church plant in Phenix City. Daniel is married to the former Abby Wells and they have three girls Mayson, Micah, and Colby. Abby adds a lot not only to Daniel's personal life but also to his ministry. Abby is a 2nd grade teacher and gives Daniel insight in all areas within the Children's Ministry at Golden Acres. Daniel recently graduated with a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Beacon University. Daniel believes God has called him to reach lost children and teach them how to be life long followers of God.

The Upper Room is located behind the choir loft in the Sanctuary. This beautiful room is filled with a peaceful spirit that invites the prayers of individuals and prayer partners. We also have the Upper Room Prayer Ministry during Sunday Worship Services. Volunteers meet on a rotating basis to pray for Brother Ray, those involved in leading worship, and for the Holy Spirit to move throughout the congregation. There is an atmosphere of faith and expectation of what the Lord is going to do. If you are interested in volunteering to pray during worship call Dave Fussell at (334) 298-8733.

Man, we sure are glad that you are checking us out. Our Student Ministry is made up of three distinct areas: Middle School, High School, & College. Our Middle School & High School meet each week at 6:30 pm upstairs in the Student Center. Our College Students meet every Wednesday Night at 8:00 p.m. in the Student Center for a relaxed small group setting. All of our student ministries routinely take spiritual growth retreats to the mountains or the beach. During the summer we focus our attention on missions and how we as a student ministry can fullfill the Great Commission. Throughout the year we have special events and short trips planned that you can attend. If you want, you can check us out at: (http://www.myspace.com/commongroundsm.) If you want to be challenged to grow in your faith we hope that you will visit us soon.

COMMON GROUND STUDENT MINISTRY EXISTS TO:
• REACH non-believing students to accept Jesus as their Savior
• CONNECT them with other Christians
• GROW them in their faith
• CHALLENGE them to DISCOVER their ministry
• HONOR God with their life.We are raising the standards of students while becoming hungry and thirsty for more of JESUS

Our DT class is a time where students can get up close and personal with God. We use this time on a Sunday evening to address some of the difficult situations that Students who are in Jr. high and Sr. high have to face everyday. God tells us that He will never leave us or forsake us, with that being the foundation, we teach students through video illustrations, age appropriate curriculum, and most importantly, God's word.

If your looking for a place to prepare yourself spiritually and ask questions.... this is it. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday evenings at 5:00p.m. in the Student Center.

Ministry ConnectionsYou are not here by chance!God created you and made you for a purpose... (Ephesians 4:11-13) ...and equipped you with the gifts to fulfill your calling. (I Peter 4:10)He gave you those gifts to be used in community, to serve God and others. (Romans 12:4-8)Moreover, your personal spiritual growth is activated as you serve others. (Ephesians 4:11-16)Consider: Spending time in prayer seeking to discern how God is calling you. Sharing your talents and interest areas with your home group and ask them if these fit with what they know about you. Deciding on one area where God is calling you to start serving. Sometimes, you just need to try something!CLICK HERE to browse through some current ministry service opportunities. If you find something you'd like to try, indicate your interest on the form, and someone from that ministry will be in touch with you. Congratulations! You are on the way to spiritual growth and transformation through ministry service. Discovering where and how God is calling you to serve is a life-long journey. His call may change with different seasons; be sure to take time periodically to reflect and learn more. When you have a chance, log on to our GABC Online Community (to the left on this page) and update your profile to include your spiritual gifts, passions, and abilities. This will help us look for ministry opportunities that are a good fit for you. Contact Us.For further information, please contact:Gina Harper

Nehemaih 8:1 "We serve as one man."

Mission: To grow spiritually strong men who grow spiritually strong families that grow a spiritually strong church.

Vision: To form a close-knit men's fellowship of accountability and support. Proverbs 27:17 "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
